Learn, talk & tweet about our changing planet! Join us for the 2013 Earth Day/NASA Climate Day event and Tweetup.
The Science Museum of Minnesota invites you to join like-minded people for an afternoon exploration of our climate in honor of Earth Day 2013. Families are invited to check out the museum's Future Earth exhibit, join in the hands-on Earth Day festivities, listen to live music, and explore the museum. Museum admission and parking that day is free for event guests who RSVP.
Later that afternoon, explore the challenges and opportunities of living on a human-dominated planet through an interactive Future Earth presentation by Patrick Hamilton, the Science Museum’s director of Global Change Initiatives. Hear Paul Huttner, Minnesota Public Radio’s chief meteorologist, host of MPR’s Climate Cast and Updraft blog author, talk about the most likely climate changes in Minnesota in the next 30 years.
Tweet your thoughts along the way (#EarthDayMN), and keep an eye on our Twitterfall to read what others are saying in real time!
The afternoon concludes with hors d’oeuvres, beverages and good conversation as you reflect on what you’ve learned. Share your ideas about how our world is changing and how we can adapt and thrive with our existing resources.
