What started as an interactive conversation about the news has grown into a vibrant community gathering online every night. The backchannel not only discusses the news of the day, it helps create it – shining a light on the good news in our city and promoting positive ideas. It's time to get the #backchannel together in real life. We're excited to be hosting the first #backchannel tweetup. What's a tweetup? It's an informal social gathering where you have a chance to meet your twitter friends face-to-face. Our #backchannel tweetup will be loaded with plenty of special guests, one-of-a-kind giveaways and a lot of fun. You'll have a chance to meet and greet members of the @WXYZdetroit team, including @SClarkWXYZ, @CCliffordWXYZ, @Rexroth7WXYZ, @TomLeyden, @tvnewzguy, @WXYZalicia and @VictorJFaust. The lovely and talented @ErinLCummings (Detroit 1-8-7's Dr. Abbey Ward) will also be on hand as we live tweet our favorite new show, @Detroit187ABC. Copper Canyon is loaded with big screen TVs, speedy WiFi, delicious food and craft beer, so come early and plan on staying late. We'll be live tweeting the #7at7, #DWTS, #Detroit187 and the #backchannel throughout the night. Make sure you power up your laptop or smart phone. We'll be drawing names throughout the night to win VIP tours of the @WXYZdetroit studios, opportunities to live tweet the news from backstage with @SClarkWXYZ plus other cool prizes from Copper Canyon and @BeerTodd. Come out to have a great time, meet the #backchannel and support our favorite ABC shows. This is going to be a fun night.
