Join @MamaDramaNY, @phnyc, @playtime_nyc and friends 9pm ET, as we chat about RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN , the newest play at Playwrights Horizons by Gina Gionfrioddo and starring Amy Brenneman, Beth Dixon, Virginia Kull, Kellie Overbey and Lee Tergesen.
In RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURH, it is fifteen years after
graduate school when Catherine and Gwen chose polar opposite paths.
Catherine built a career as a rock star academic, while Gwen built a
home with her husband and children. Decades later, unfulfilled in polar
opposite ways, each woman covets the others life, commencing a dangerous
game of musical chairs -- the prize being Gwen's husband. With searing
insight and trademark wit, this comedy is an unflinching look at gender
politics in the wake of 20th century feminist ideals. There is so much food for thought and we can't wait to delve into the themes of this play at our party.
