2nd Harvest Food Bank will compete w/4 nonprofits chance to win a new Toyota-part of Toyota 100 Cars for Good-see why we should win!

On behalf of Second Harvest Food Bank, I would like to personally invite you to a tweet up event at Second Harvest Food Bank in our Community Kitchen on Thursday, June 7 from 5-7pm located at 700 Edwards Avenue in Harahan. During the tweet up, we will give everyone a great behind the scenes tour of the Community Kitchen, the heart of the Kids Cafe and Summer Feeding programs as well as a tour of the food bank facilities. There will be wine and some nibbles to enjoy while we mix and mingle.

This Saturday, June 9, Second Harvest Food Bank will compete with four nonprofit organizations for the chance to win a new Toyota vehicle as part of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good campaign. Voting takes place on Saturday, June 9 from 9am – 11pm CDT. We would appreciate the help of you and your friends to take a minute on Saturday to VOTE on Facebook.

With a new Toyota vehicle, Second Harvest can continue to expand its efforts to fight child hunger by delivering nutritious meals to children through the Kids Cafe and Summer Feeding programs. Now through August 8, Second Harvest Food Bank will feed nearly 4,000 children at 50 camp sites, two nutritious meals a day. That’s nearly a quarter million meals for children who might otherwise go hungry this summer. These meals are prepared, plated and delivered daily by a team of volunteers who often use their own vehicles. A new Toyota vehicle will help Second Harvest Food Bank deliver nutritious meals to more children in need!
